About Alex Torres

Foto-Alex-WEbAlex Torres is a producer, writer, sports commentator and stand-up comedian.
Alex has been producing events for more than 30 years and is considered one of Florida’s top event producer!  His events have been featured on LatiNation TV, Wapa America, Telemundo and Univision. His background includes: event production, management, marketing, sales, product sampling, event coordination and promotions.
He is responsible to present for the first time and to open the US market to many Puerto Rican artists, comedians and singers. Some of these artists include: Raymond Arrieta, Chente Ydrach, Raul Carbonell, Luis Raul, Sully Diaz, Marian Pabon, Victor Alicea, Carmen Nydia Velazquez, Silverio Perez, Wilson Torres, Jorge Castro, Rene Monclova, JoeAlis Filippetti, Katy Franco, Julio Cesar Sanabria, Edwin Colon Zayas, Jose Nogueras, Antonio Caban Vale and Prodigio Claudio.
In the music side he has worked with Fania All-Stars Cheo Feliciano,  Larry Harlow, Adalberto Santiago, Luigi Texidor, Yomo Toro and Salsa legends such as Eddie Santiago, Frankie Ruiz, Hector Tricoche, Yolanda Rivera among others
Alex has worked with some of the top and most prestigious companies in the world including: The Procter and Gamble Company, Nabisco Biscuit Company, Clear Channel Communications and Univision Spanish Television.
As a semi-professional baseball player in Puerto Rico, Alex had the opportunity to represent his Country in international competitions. He worked as the Spanish games “color commendator” for the NBA’s Orlando Magic!
In August 2013, was recognized in his native town of Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico for his contribution to the arts and his sports career!
Some of his work include:
  • In 2000 worked on Clear Channel’s “WXXL-FM 106.7 Spring Concert” which included artists Nelly Furtado and multiple Grammy and Billboard Award winner “Destiny’s Child”.
  • In 2001 worked on Univision’s “Puerto Rican Day Parade Festival” which attracted close to 20,000 people.
  • In 2002 created festival “Navidad Jibara En Orlando”, a Puerto Rican folkloric festival that celebrates the Puerto Rican heritage and culture. The festival has become Central Florida’s largest Hispanic Christmas celebration with thousands of people attending every year!
  • In 2003 was contracted by Puerto Rico’s prestigious University Ana G. Mendez to produce and manage their grand opening ceremony and festivities for their Orlando campus, as well as their anniversary celebration.
  • In 2003 was contracted by The Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of Brevard County in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for their Festival “Fiestas Patronales and Business to Business Expo”.
  • In 2004 created, produced and co-host the Spanish radio talk show “Entre Amigos” on Fantastica 1440AM, hosted by Puerto Rican famed actress and singer Sharon Riley.
  • From 2003-2010 produced and managed the anniversary celebration for the Ana G. Mendez University.
  • In 2005 created the “Fiesta Boricua Festival” which became the largest Puerto Rican Day celebration in the  state of Florida!
  • In 2006 made history by becoming the first producer to sell out the historic Plaza Theater in Orlando, FL.
  • Alex Torres Productions has been contracted by such companies as Presidente Beer, Telemundo, Jugos Jarritos among others to worked their Central Florida promotions.
  • In 2007 and 2008 managed and coordinated Cypress Garden’s theme Park “Fiesta Musical @ Cypress” a annual event.
  • In 2010 produced and managed the grand opening for the Ana G. Mendez University Tampa Bay Campus.
  • In 2010, once again, made history by becoming the first event producer to sell out the weekend at the historic Plaza Theater.
  • In 2013 Alex was selected among Central Florida’s 12 most distinguished Latino businessmen.
  • In 2013, Alex was recognized in Puerto Rico for his contribution to the arts and his sports career!
  • In 2015 created “Festival del Bacalaito” (Fried Cod Fritters). The event is currently Seminole County Largest “Hispanic Month Celebration”.
